The choreographers Laura Macias and Gavin de Paor direct the staging of this show which opens the third Season of Ballet. Based in Chapter XIX of the second book of The Ingenious Hidalgo Don Quixote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes, this ballet focuses on the love between Kitri and Basilio, the barber. Don Quixote and Sancho Panza live out several adventures around the young couple.
The music of Don Quijote was composed by Ludwig Minkus and the libretto and choreography Marius Petipa commissioned, being released in December 1869 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
In the production now presented will be featured as guest stars Elena Glirdjdidze and Arionel Vargas. As solo dancers Oscar Manhenzane, Sascha Pieper, Tamara Gutiérrez, Ana Rosa Ramos, Laura Macias, Laura Alvarez, Jose Cabrera, Hazem Zacaria, Gavin de Paor and Daan Visser.
Wrapped by a body of forteen dancers and the music of Orchestra Acadèmia 1830, directed by Fernando Marina.
