Two artists from the first line of flamenco unite their art in this unique show. Diego Carrasco (Jerez de la Frontera, 1954) is a guitarist, composer and flamenco singer who has developed a very distinctive and personnel style, a style that is half way between flamenco and pure rock.
He has collaborated with artists such as Raimundo Amador, Moraito Chico, Carles Benavent and Jorge Pardo. He has published nine albums, the last one being Hippytano (2012), now presented in this concert with a sextet format.
For her part, the flamenco singer Remedios Amaya was born in the Triana district of Seville in 1962 and was one of the artists that most inspired Camarón de la Isla, being known as' La Camarona de Triana’. She presents herself in a quintet format with her show Soy Gitana, title taken from her album released in 2000.
The performance is part of Flamenco is Time, a musical cycle that takes place in Palma de Mallorca during the months of July and August to promote flamenco culture. This festival is celebrated also in Oslo, with a program of concerts the months of September, November and December 2013. Flamenco was declared by UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010.
Besides concerts, the cycle also includes master classes and photo exhibitions (see schedule on the festival website).
