The Madrid pianist David Jareño closes the ciclo Invierno Pianistico in Musicalen with this program composed by Great Sonata in fa Minor, op. 11 by Robert Schumann, and Rhapsody in Blue by George Gershwin. David Jareño is a professor at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid and offers recitals and concerts with other instrumentalists throughout Spain.
Passion and reflection addresses the first sonata composed by Robert Schumann, Great Sonata in fa Minor, op. 11, dedicated to his future wife Clara Wieck. In it, Schumann gets carried away by his fantastic and literary worlds and investigates in new orchestral textures - forcing the interpreter to make difficult hand-and-operatic crosses.
David Jareño will interpret this great work in two big sections in which he will execute his movements without solution of continuity: 1ª Introduzione, Allegro vivace and Aria; 2ª Scherzo and Intermezzo and Finale (Allegro a little maestoso).
As for Rhapsody in Blue, it is a composition by George Gershwin for solo piano and jazz band released on February 12, 1924 at Aeolian Hall in New York by Paul Whiteman and his band, with Gershwin himself on piano.
The version that we can hear is the reduction for two pianos of the arrangement for piano and symphony orchestra realized by Ferde Grofé in 1946.
