Born in Nizhnniy Novgorod in 1991, this young Russian pianist is one of the most brilliant of his generation. In the season of 2010/11 he was awarded in three of the most prestigious music competitions in the world: Chopin Competition in Warsaw (Bronze Medal), Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (First Prize) and Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (Gold Medal).
In 2011 he published his first CD with a selection of Chopin piano works with the Decca label and has done television recordings in Russia, United States and Italy.
Daniil Trifonov open the XXXIII edition of the International Chopin Festival being held in the cloister of the Valldemossa Charterhouse with a program dedicated, in part, to 24 Preludes, Op. 28 by the Polish composer that names the festival. The second part consists of Rachmaniana, suite fora piano by Trifonov himself, and Variations on a Theme of Chopin, Op. 22 of Sergei Rachmaninov (1873-1943).
