The Obra Social Sa Nostra Caixa de Balears and BMN launches a new edition of the courses for adults of the 2018-2019 season, which are held at the  Centre de Cultura Sa Nostra in Palma.

Literature courses

Literary Thursdays- Reading Club

Teacher: Julián Ruiz-Bravo Peña.

Duration: from October 2018 to May 2019.

Initiation group:

Third Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Start: October 25.

Objectives: Approach, through a careful and profound reading, to the most paradigmatic books of Western culture through the analysis of texts from the English, Russian, Spanish, Catalan, German, French, etc. tradition. Different literary genres will be worked on; novel, essay, theater and story.

Advanced group:

Last Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Start: November 8.

Objectives: Analyze some of the most emblematic themes and characters of universal literature. Reflect on the primordial concepts of the human condition such as guilt, fear, pain, love, friendship, dignity, power, etc.

Note: In order to complete this course, it is essential to have attended the initiation course.

Methodology:

The participants will have to read the proposed readings and on Thursday, they will meet with the coordinator of the activity to analyze the chosen book while they taste a good coffee. The sessions will be complemented with some exit to the theater, to the cinema, to conferences and other activities.

Creative writing workshop

Teacher: Guillem Rosselló Bujosa.

Introductory course:

Duration: from October 24, 2018 to June 8, 2019 (biweekly).

Schedule: Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Objectives: Learn to describe our feelings and thoughts. Be able to capture in writing the most distant memories. Learn to mix our experiences to create stories, stories, etc.

Possibility of printing / publishing a book with the best works. The course will have a maximum of 12 students and a minimum of 8.

Advanced course:

Duration: from October 24, 2018 to June 12, 2019 (biweekly).

Group A:

Schedule from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 p.m.

First day of class: October 24.

B Group:

Schedule from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

First day of class: October 31.

Objectives: Try to write longer stories or write your own book of stories, novels or poetry, etc.

In the course the possibility of printing or editing a book will be considered. To be able to do it, it is essential to have done the initiation course.
