The Frédéric Chopin and George Sand Museum in Valldemossa celebrates the 90th anniversary of its opening with this conference by Jean-Jacques Elgeldinger followed by a piano concert by Paula Ríos.
The renowned historian Jean-Jacques Elgeldinger offers the conference with the title Cuando Chopin compone, toca y enseña los Preludios (When Chopin composes, plays and teaches the Preludes).
Next, the pianist Paula Ríos will perform pieces that Chopin composed during his stay in Valldemossa in the winter of 1838-39: 24 Preludes Op28, 2 Polonaises Op40, Mazurka Op41 No.1 and Ballad No.2 in F Major Op.38. These works will be performed on a Pleyel Piano from 1849.
