'Così fan tutte', W. A. Mozart

It is one of Mozart's masterpieces, although in his time it was little valued. The libreto in Italian is the work of Lorenzo da Ponte and takes as an argument the exchange of couples. This production of Così fan tutte  of the Theater of San Carlo of Naples is part of the XXXI Season of Opera and Ballet of the Teatre Principal de Palma.

It has musical direction of Domenico Longo and staging by Mario Martone, in a version that was commissioned by Claudius Abbado. Featuring la Orquestra Simfònica de les Illes Balears and the Cor del Teatre Principal de Palma.
The cast is formed by: Carmen Romeu (Fiordiligi), Carol Garcia (Dorabella), Joan Martín Royo (Guglielmo), Giorgio Misseri (Ferrando), Susana Cordón (Despina) and Simó Orfila (Don Alfonso).

The philosopher Don Alfonso makes a bet with Ferrando and Guglielmo that their girlfriends will end up betraying them. Both disguised, they each try to court the beloved of the other to prove it.

As a parallel activity, on Saturday April 1 a conference is held by Paolo Pinamonti, artistic director of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and on Tuesday 4 the projection of Il giovane favoloso  by Mario Martone, with a subsequent colloquium.
