Founded in 1976 by its director Joan Company, the Choir of the Universitat de les Illes Balears has become a leading exponent of the music in the Balearics and a coral reference in Spain.
They have performed in major theaters and concert halls of Spain and in different countries of Europe and America. It has a repertoire of over 600 compositions of the full scope of universal choral literature, from Gregorian chant to contemporary music to pieces by Balearic composers, a cappella music of all times and the great works of the symphonic –coral repertoire.
In this concert, which is part of the Classical Music Festival XXVII Antoni Lliteres, act as soloists Yuko Mizutani (piano), Andreu Riera (piano) and Irene Gili (soprano).
