The Mallorcan artist Mar Ripoll, winner of the 2019 Certamen de Pintura de Son Carrió, presents Configuraciones Primarias (Primary Configurations), which can be seen in the exhibition hall of the Auditorio sa Màniga in Cala Millor.
Mar Ripoll studied photography at the Escuela de Arte y Diseño de Palma and trained in painting and drawing in different workshops at Casal Balaguer, Massana (Barcelona), Fundación Pilar y Joan Miró, Ses Voltes, Casal Solleric and at Es Baluard, Museum Contemporary Art of Palma.
In Configuraciones Primarias, she delves into the field of abstract neo-expressionism, emphasizing the symbolic determination of figurative elements for the viewer (resemblance).
The relationship between the background and the spots remains in tension, leading to the resemblance of recognizable icons. From these, forms of human profiles can be recognized under a subjective gaze.
