The Balearic Islands University Orchestra offers this Christmas concert at the Auditori d'Alcúdia performing works by Beethoven and Bizet.
The University Orchestra of the Balearic Islands (OUIB) was created in the 2017-2018 academic year at the initiative of the UIB student Catalina Amengual Ripoll, the Cultural Activities Service of the Vice-Rector's Office for Cultural Projection, Open University and University Headquarters.
It is a project that is aimed at students enrolled at the UIB and the Higher Conservatory who want to put their musical knowledge into practice and at the same time cover educational and cultural needs at the University itself.
The direction of the OUIB is headed by Xisco Amengual Ripoll, a young conductor who at the time of the orchestra's creation was finishing his studies in Orchestra and Choir Conducting at the Higher School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC).
