Since 1999, and at the initiative of the Barceló Foundation, the Capella Mallorquina has been holding a polyphonic concert every last Saturday of May as a tribute to the Mare de Déu de Sant Salvador. As a result of the restrictions by the Covid, this year the concert will take place in the Parish Church of Felanitx, with greater capacity.
The program consists of three Hail Mary, by composers Jacob Arcadelt (Namur, 1507-Paris, 1568), Felix Engelhart (20th century German composer) and the very popular Franz Schubert (Vienna, 1797-1828). The rest of the program is a tour of the music of different countries from New Zealand, Israel, the Czech Republic, Argentina, South Africa or Kenya.
Directed by José Martínez, the sopranos Laura Melo and Camila Durán and the tenors Miquel Estelrich and Gerónimo Seib will perform as soloists.
Admission will be free, with a voluntary donation to raise funds for the ALISOL food program in Felanitx.
