Waltraud Mucher (mezzosoprano) and Suzanne Bradbury (piano) offer this concert at the Museu de la mar del Port de Sóller with the sunset in the background. They interpret a varied selection of songs and romantic arias, besides modern songs of two foreign composers residing in Mallorca.
On the one hand, the program consists of works by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Xavier Montsalvatge, Claude Debussy, Ambroise Thomas and Jean Massenet.
It is completed with four songs from the cycle Gypsy Girl (poems of Paul Archer) by the British Mike Watts (Marton-in-Cleveland, 1937), resident in Sóller; And two songs of the cycle Tres Rimas by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer (poet of Spanish Romanticism) by the American Carl Mansker (Los Angeles, 1935), who resides between Deià and Munich.
