Alfredo Oyágüez directs the Chamber Orchestra of the Conservatori Superior de Música de les Illes Balears in this concert tribute to Pau Casals (1876-1973), considered one of the best cellists of all time. As cello soloist will perform Amit Peled, with Fritz Gearhart as concertino guest.
The program consists of Concerto for cello and orchestra nº 1 in Do Mayor of Ernest Bloch 'Prayer', by Joseph Haydn; Song of the birds / Cant dels Ocells, by Pau Casals; And Symphony No. 6 in D major, Hob. 1/6, 'Le Matin', by Haydn.
