Directed by Joan Barceló, the Jove Orquestra Illes Balears was created in 2009 and is composed of musicians who are completing (or have completed) the higher grades of their instruments. This way they are given the chance to play together and to gain experience to integrate in an orchestra.
This concert is accompanied by the Cor Ciutat de Mallorca, Teen Spirit Chorus, Cor Ciutat d'Eivissa, Youth Choir of the Music School Music Patronat Municipal d'Eivissa and Escolania La S.I. Catedral d'Eivissa. They also have the participation of the soprano Irantzu Bartolomé Bilbao and baritone Peter Quiralte-Gómez that, despite his youth, has already sung in the main Spanish coliseums and many Europeans.
The program is dedicated to the Symphony No. 35 'Haffner' of W. A. Mozartwith and the Mass of the Children of the British composer John Rutter.
