The Algarian singer and composer Claudio Gabriel Sanna opens the September 2021 for Popular and Traditional Culture with the concert La cançó catalana a l’Alguer.
This project is the result of a study and recovery of tradition, which explains the evolution of Catalan song in Alghero (city on the northwest coast of Sardinia) through the centuries, from 1400 to the present day, enriched with references to the history, language and social situation of the Catalan city of Italy.
The repertoire includes ballads from the Middle Ages of Catalan origin in the Algueran version, popular songs and poetry set to music by Algueres authors, love songs and tavern songs.
