This Canadian pianist is one of the most important of his generation. Charles Richard-Hamelin (1989) was the winner of the prize awarded by Krystian Zimmermann for the best performance of a sonata at the International Piano Competition Frederich Chopin in Warsaw in 2015. That same year he was awarded the Career Development Award from Women's Musical Club Toronto.
In the recital offered in the 2016 Chopin Festival he dedicates the program to the Polish composer: Nocturne op. No. 62. 1 in B major, Ballade no. 3 in A flat major, op. 47, Polonaise-Fantaisie in A flat major, op. 61, Introduction and Rondo in E flat major, op. 16, Four Mazurkas, op. 33 and Sonata no. 3 in B minor op. 58.
