Although they are clearly influenced by Celtic music, the name of this group from Valladolid honors the brand of tobacco one of its members smoked in 1984, ultimate Orwellian year that gave birth to the band.
With almost three decades of experience, and several changes in formation, Celtas cortos remains one of the most solid projects of Spanish rock, with more than two million copies sold.
Their first album, Salida de emergencia (Emergency Exit, 1989), contained instrumental songs with Celtic sounds, although the second changed direction introducing lyrics and a fusion with other styles such as rap, reggae and heavy metal. But success came along with the release of Cuéntame un cuento (Tell Me a Story, 1991), with emblematic songs as 20 de Abril or the one that gives the title to the album.
Now they are on tour with Vivos y directos (Live and direct), the album released in 2012 as a result of an acoustic tour through Spanish theaters. In Mallorca they present it in the concert organized by Cadena 100 within the festivities of Palma.
