'CelloEvolution. De Bolonia a Köthen'

New concert at the 25th Palma Ancient Music Festival by Josetxu Obregón, who plays music from the 17th and 18th centuries on a baroque cello.

The capella was the main musical institution during the Renaissance and the Baroque. For the first time in history, Domenico Gabrieli and Giovanni Battista Vitali, musicians from the San Petronio Basilica in the Italian city of Bologna, gave the cello the role of a solo instrument. Many years later, the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach, Kapellmeister at the court of Köthen, brought the cello to its apogee with his six solo cello suites.
