Born in Cádiz in 1974, as a teenager he moved to Madrid, where he began playing with the group Crápulas Flor. In 1997, he participated in the compilation Cantaautores: la nueva generación. (Cantaautores: The Next Generation). A year later he recorded his first album entitled Carlos Chaouen.
Recognized are varied influences ranging from Joaquin Sabina to Silvio Rodriguez, but also tends to rock aflamencado. He has collaborated with artists such as Ana Torroja, Ismael Serrano, Diego El Cigala and Sergio Dalma.
His latest album, Respirar (Breathe), contains twelve songs which venture through various styles, while maintaining the Cadiz air of his origins.
This same night at Café Vamp will also feature Luis Cadenas (Palma, 1982). He began his musical career in 2005 playing in bars of Palma and Madrid. His first album, Al borde del KO (Edge of KO), was recorded in 2012 in studios Swing of Toni Pastor.
