Since 1999, the Capella Mallorquina has been offering its traditional concert Homenaje a la Mare de Déu (Tribute to the Mother of God) in Sant Salvador (Felanitx).
The Mallorca choir, sponsored by the Barceló Foundation has prepared a varied repertoire. It will begin with several pieces of sacred music like Ave Maria by Tomas Luis de Victoria and the Mass for Peace by British composer Karl Jenkins. Then it will turn to lyrical music with fragments of the great Verdi opera Nabucco and of the zarzuelas Marina or Gigantes y Cabezudos.
The concert, which is included in the 2015-2016 season, will be directed by Jose Martinez and accompanied on piano by Alicia Moreno.
