José Sacristán embodies the Seville writer and poet Antonio Machado (1875-1939) through a staged reading with musical accompaniment on cello of Celia Alvarez. A dreamlike journey through the life and work of the poet from his setting in exile in France to his first verses of youth.
The show connects fragments of the most significant poems of each of the stages of the author, which José Sacristán recites brilliantly getting into the skin of the poet to the point of disappearing himself. In addition to the interpretation, the prolific actor is also responsible for the direction and dramaturgy of this tribute to Antonio Machado, who is considered one of the "biggest, honest, loyal, simple, consistent, incorruptible and lucid thinkers-witnesses of his time poets".
