The XXXV Opera Season of the Teatre Principal de Palma begins with Cabaret Weill, a musical show that brings us closer to the figure of the German composer Kurt Weill (Dessau, 1900-New York, 1950).
The concert is carried out by SimfoVents Palma, directed by Francico Valero-Terribas, and the soloists Jesús Reina (violin), Miquel Àngel Torrens (narrator), Maia Planas (soprano), Natalia Salom (soprano), Tomeu Bibiloni (baritone) and Pablo López (baritone).
The program is made up of two works that contrast in Weill's repertoire: Violin Concerto, which we can listen to by one of the most renowned violinists in Spain; and The three cent opera, his most popular work, in a concert version adapted for the occasion with dramatized narratives by the actor Miquel Àngel Torrens. This opera, written by Bertolt Brecht, immerses us in the atmosphere of the 20s of the last century with Mackie the Razor as the protagonist. Catalan language.
