Bubotes was one of the most outstanding novels of the Mallorcan writer Antoni Mus (1926-1982), a poignant and vigorous witness to a world in transformation. Now the company La Reforma stages this adaptation with dramaturgy and direction by Antoni Rosselló.
Two bubotes (in Mallorca ghosts are called bubotes) will make a tour of the land of Retana, a possessió that represents the Mallorca of landowners, messengers and day laborers. In the midst of dusty roads and fig trees, pride, greed, cowardice and decadence will advance with steps determined by admirable prose towards the knot of civil war.
Bubotes is played by Sebastià Adrover and Salvador Miralles.
