Banda Municipal de Música de Palma

The XXXVI Encontre Internacional de Compositors begins with the Municipal Band of Palma and the percussion group Amores.

The program will consist of three young composers - Luis Roman, Antoni Mairata and Victor Valles – a consecrated character of the Balearic composition as Miquel Angel Roig-Francoli and an historic figure of composition for bands, R. Peck.

Program: The Glory and the Grandeur  of R.Peck (concert for percussion trio); Paris, by L. Román Cárdenas (world premiere); Mutacions of V. Vallés (First Prize at the IV International Composition Prize for Vila Band of Muro 2013); Dramatic Overture, of A. Mairata (world premiere); and Perseus  (of Three astral Poems), by M. Á. Roig-Francholí (Medal of Honour of the Higher Conservatory of the Balearic Islands 2004). Regarding the latter, it is the first hearing in Mallorca of the version for Band premiered in Cincinnati in April 2015.
