La Escola de Música i Danses de Mallorca (School of music and dance of Mallorca) celebrates its 40th anniversary with a program of activities to be held throughout the year and beginning with this popular dance at the Paseo de Born of Palma.
This school was founded in 1975 by Bartomeu Enseñat i Estrany as a result of a work of research focused on how the people of the villages of Mallorca would enjoy themselves in private parties where they danced to the rhythm of jotas and boleros.
