The voice of Western Sahara arrives at the Cançons de la Mediterrània 2021 festival through the music of Aziza Brahim, contemporary sound poet and eloquent protagonist of the Saharawi people and their struggle for recognition and justice.
Aziza Brahim, who currently resides in Barcelona, was born and raised in the Sahrawi refugee camps that line the border between Algeria and Western Sahara.
Sahari, her latest album, mixes sounds from the North and South in a brilliant combination of traditional world music and modern music.
