Israeli bassist and composer Avishai Cohen started playing in the New York subway and today is one of the most prominent jazz figures on the international scene. Cohen is the guest artist of the first concert scheduled for the first edition of the Festival Jazz Palma, who is a acompanied by the Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears directed by Pablo Mielgo.
Until he created his own group in 2003, Avishai Cohen was a member of formations such as pianist Chick Corea's sextet. He has collaborated with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Bobby McFerrin, Roy Hargrove, Herbie Hancock and Alicia Keys, among other figures.
It will not be the first time he plays with the Illes Balears Symphony Orchestra,, since we were able to see him in 2016 on this same stage in a memorable concert.
Avishai Cohen (double bass and vocals) is presented with his trio of which Elchin Shirinov (piano) and Noam David (drums) are part.
