Claudi Arimany (flute), Josep Francesc Palou (flute) and Michel Wagemans (piano) are responsible for implementing this concert of works by Mendelssohn, Poulenc, Doppler, Mozart, Martinu and Verdi.
Claudi Arimany, considered one of the most prestigious Catalan soloists, has a large international presence. in his concerts he uses the iconic WS Haynes golden flute of Jean-Pierre Rampal (1922-2000), usual companion of Arimany whom he considered one of the best flute players of his generation.
Along with him, the Mallorcan flautist Josep Francesc Palou, pupil of the former who has also performed with Rampal and other great interpreters, he is professor of flute at the Conservatory of the Balearic Islands and artistic director of the Classical Music Festival Antoni Lliteres of Arta.
Completing the trio Belgian pianist Michel Wagemans, with a proven track record as a chamber musician and a wide and eclectic discography praised by major specialized journals.
The program for this concert will include three songs for two flutes with piano accompaniment, Felix Mendelssohn, Sonata for Flute and Piano by Francis Poulenc; Andante and Rondo op. 25 of Franz Doppler, three duets on arias from The Magic Flute by Mozart transcribed for two flutes by the author in 1792, Sonata for flute and piano by Bohuslav Martinu, and fantasy about the opera Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi, Doppler transcript.
