The music of the Baroque Venetian composer Antonio Vivaldi opens the 2019-2020 season of the Fundació Studium Aureum. This first concert is directed by the director and violinist Ramon Andreu, who also acts as a concertmaster and with Guillermo Femenias (laud) as a soloist.
The program consists of Concerto in Sol minore per cordes and continu RV 157, Concerto per a liuto in Re maggiore RV 93 and Le quattro stagioni, paradigm of programmatic music. This set of four concerts for violin and string orchestra illustrates the seasons, describing the sound, environmental and pictorial landscape characteristic of each one of them. Antonio Vivaldi (Venice, 1678-Vienna, 1741) composed them around the year 1721 and was published in Amsterdam four years later by the publisher Michel-Charles Le Céne.
Half an hour before the Studium Aureum concert, the composer Mercè Pons will give a talk about the composer and of the works.
