Now it is the turn of los Jovenes Talentos Baleares (the Balearic Youth Talents) at the XL Deià International Music Festival with this concert by string quartet Alma String Quartet. The program consists of works by Turina, Mendelssohn, Shostakovich and Piazzolla.
The Deià International Music Festival has been held since 1978 in the music room of Son Marroig, one of the former properties of Archduke Luis Salvador in the Tramuntana mountains of Mallorca. It was created by the now defunct Patrick Meadows, jazz musician and poet, and his partner Stephanie Shepard. Since a few years, the artistic direction falls on the pianist Alfredo Oyagüez Montero.
It is dedicated to chamber music, although it also includes proposals for styles such as jazz or flamenco.
