Cançons de la Mediterrània 2024 brings us Ali Dogan Gönültas. Born in the Anatólia region of Turkey, he began his professional musical career with the group Ze Tijê as a founding member, composer, arranger and performer on the studio albums Yanlisimiz Var! (2015) and Ur (2019), where the group explored the post-rock, collage and experimental genres.
Since 2018, he continues his musical production with his solo concert series Xo Bi Xo. In this project, in which the musician includes songs in Kurdish and Turkish, as well as in Zazaki, his native language, he experiments with traditional styles and themes, passed down by his personal style.
In 2022 he published his first solo album, Kigi, where he pours all the knowledge acquired in his studies and in the oral history and field research that he has carried out since 2007 in his region of birth, Kigi, and plays with musical language popular and genuine from the area of Anatolia and Mesopotamia.
