Born in Moscow in 1946, Alexander Malter has lived since 1991 in Germany. He offers concerts as a solo pianist, accompanist and chamber musician. Since 2005 he is the artistic director of this festival held annually in Port de Sóller. He is an artist who is very much in demand an his particular repertoire includes works by his compatriots as Tschaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Skyrabin. Also Bach, Haydn, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Chopin and Liszt, as well as contemporary music.
