They are recognized worldwide as one of the best groups to emerge on the Belgian jazz scene in recent decades. The three musicians met thirty years ago and consolidated their musical relationship with a trip to the Aka Pygmies in Africa, where they realized their vocation to create a musical language that synchronized diverse cultures.
His second great trip was to India, which was followed by the Balkans, Arab countries, Cuba…. and a mix of classical and contemporary cultures.
The Aka Moon trio do not like to pigeonhole themselves, they are supporters of creative eclecticism. His compositions form a complex rhythmic amalgam and his concerts are authentic journeys that flow through unexpected passages, seeking new rhythmic and harmonic paths, open to improvisation.
