'A Propòsit de la Pintura', by Xavier Grau

Galeria Maior de Pollença pays tribute to Xavier Grau (Barcelona, 1951-2020), one of the most relevant artists on the Spanish art scene of the last 50 years and a reference in abstraction today. Through a selection of varied works, A Propòsit de la Pintura brings us closer to the exuberant and electrifying plastic universe of this artist.

Along with José Manuel Broto, Xavier Grau was one of the main protagonists of the Trama group, an artistic collective that emerged in the 70s that advocated a return to painting as a counterpoint to the prevailing Conceptualism of the time.
