8# Jan Lisiecki

El ciclo de conciertos Estius Simfònics, which the Orquestra Simfònica Illes Balears is holding at Bellver Castle in Palma, presents the Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki, who performs as a soloist.

Despite his youth, Jan Lisiecki (Calgary, 1995) was named Unicef Ambassador to Canada in 2012 and in 2013 he became the youngest recipient of the Gramophone Young Artist Award. Since then he has garnered important awards such as the ECHO Klassik in 2017 and the Juno Prize in 2018, for his album with rarely performed works for piano and orchestra by Chopin, with the NDR Orchestra of the Elbe Philharmonic and Krzysztof Urbanski.

The program for this concert, conducted by the orchestra's leader Pablo Mielgo, consists of two works by L.v. Beethoven: Piano Concerto no. 4 and Piano Concerto no. 5.
