The Chapel of the Centre Cultural La Misericordia welcomes this year's new edition of the Setmana del Llibre en Català (Catalan Book Week) organized by the Booksellers Guild and the Consell de Mallorca. It starts Friday, February 28th with the opening by writer and president of the Philological Section of the Institut d'Estudis Catalans, Isidor Marí. The last day is March 9 with a closing concert of the duo Donallop.
In this edition, when it celebrates a quarter century of existance, will be participating a total of nine book shops that will show their latest novelties and editions in la Capilla. Moreover, in an adjacent room will be arranged up to 26 activities throughout the ten-day fair, from gatherings of different thematics to presentations of books and projects, plus a homanaje to the poet Joan Vinyoli on the centenary of his birth or the recognition of Editorial Moll at the 80th anniversary of its founding.
