‘La voluntad de creer’

Awarded at the 2023 Max Awards for Best Theater Show, La voluntad de creer (The Will to Believe) is a play written and directed by Pablo Messiez based on The Word, by Danish playwright Kaj Munk.

In it, the youngest of a family of Basque brothers maintains that he is Jesus of Nazareth. His sisters consider that he has gone mad from too much reading of Kierkegaard. As in Ordet, there will be death and resurrection. And, above all, the desire to play with the viewer's perception, so that the performance itself is a test of his faith.
