Manuel Quiroga (Pontevedra 1892-1961) was one of the great virtuosos of the violin in his time. Considered with Pablo Sarasate and Pau Casals as one of the three most international Spanish string players, he had a life full of success in the main stages of Europe and America. His career was cut short at age 45, due to an accident in New York and a subsequent illness.
Quiroga used to finish his concerts with his own compositions, of extreme difficulty, with the idea of showing his virtuosity. The violinist José Manuel Álvarez Losada, accompanied on piano by Andreu Riera, now performs, for the first time in Mallorca, the complete work for violin and piano by the Galician composer.
