The popular opera by Giacomo Puccini (Italy, 1858-Belgium, 1924), with a libretto in Italian by Giuseppe Adani and Renato Simoni, is offered from the Arts Center of Australia with musical and stage direction by Andrea Licati and Graeme Murphi, respectively. The work was unfinished at Puccini's death, but was completed by Franco Alfano and premiered on April 25, 1926 at La Scala in Milan.
