The sum of art and science is the leitmotif of this new show created by dancer and choreographer Catherine Carrasco along with performer and Ph.D. in biomechanics Gaspar Morey. A scientist who started dancing in 2008, in 2010 he first collaborated with the balerina and in 2012 quit his job in the industry to establish himself as a freelance biomechanical consultant and dedicate more time to his artistic side.
The new joint work presented now, is a project of performative research joined with interactive technology, a method that allows them to deepen in the movement from their own language and in the sound produced by the movement.
Travelling to nowhere is part of the program of the Teatre Infantil i Juvenil de les Illes Balears (Children's Theatre Festival Youth i Balearic Islands), which takes place from November 22 to 24 in Vilafranca de Bonany. It involves a total of 19 companies, most of Mallorca, which 23 shows over three days.
In addition to theatrical productions, the festival includes in its program activities such as parades, storytelling and a grand finale on Sunday 24 with children's entertainment, games and live songs.
