American film directed in 1978 by Michael Cimino and starring Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, Meryl Streep and John Savage. The Deer Hunter won five Academy Awards: Film, Director, Actor (Christopher Walken), sound and installation.
Although this is a war drama, it's actually a movie about friendship. Three friends love hunting, working in a steel foundry in Pennsylvania, spent together the last days before going to volunteer at the Vietnam War.
The Deer Hunter is part of the cycle Cinefilms organized by CineCiutat which includes twelve classics of film history in original version with subtitles in Castilian. It is held every Thursday from 24 January to 11 April.
