Valencian singers Esther Andújar and Eva Romero reproduce the historic and successful meeting between Carmen McRae and Betty Carter that they carried out in 1987. This recording shows us two great ladies of vocal jazz with a perfect interaction seasoned with good humor and spontaneity. The Carmen McRae-Betty Carter Duets is the second last proposal of the 27th Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla.
Esther Andújar and Eva Romero are two artists endowed with voices with a strong personality and a facility for improvisation. Their musical background, and their artistic and personal affinity, make them ideal interpreters of this historic session, accompanied by excellent musicians.
Eva Romero and Ester Andújar (vocals), Edu Marquina (piano), César Cortés (double bass) and José Reíllo (drums).
Half of the proceeds from the concert will go to the Associació Llar de Memòria.
