The Noble Floor of the Casal Solleric hosts this exhibition by Ángela de Cruz (La Coruña, 1965) entitled Stuck and curated by Iñaki Martínez Antelo and Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta.
At the end of the eighties, and after graduating in Philosophy and Letters at the University of Santiago de Compostela, Ángela de Cruz left her hometown to move to London. There she began her studies at the Chelsea College of Art and later at Goldsmiths College and Slade School of Art.
Since then, her artistic career has not stopped providing such notable moments as her exhibition at the Camden Arts Center entitled After, for which she was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2010. In 2017 she received the National Prize for Plastic Arts.
At first glance, Ángela de Cruz's paintings seem to have been destroyed. The deformed or broken frames and the twisted canvases are then hung on the wall or placed on the floor as trophies.
