A funny, surprising and mysterious story that reveals how medicine was in ancient times, before being scientific. El somni d'Esculapi is a show created by Carlos Garrido Escènic, premiered in 2016 in the ruins of the temple of Esculapi, god of medicine and health, in the Greek city of Empúries (Girona).
The show is structured around the interpretation of Xavi Núñez, who represents Eli Aristides, a Greek patient who goes to the temple of Esculapi, where he will participate in the rituals of healing and listen to the hymn to God, interpreted by Mariona Forteza. All this with the explanations of Carlos Garrido, author and director of the production. A historical testimony taken from the book Sacred Discourses of Eli Aristides himself.
