Acadèmia 1830 presents at the Festival Clàssica Mallorca 2024 this concert dedicated to two works by Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann, two of the main figures of the romantic movement, who were also very good friends.
The programme consists of Concerto for cello and orchestra in A minor, op. 129, by R. Schumann, written in 1850, already in the composer's mature years. It is a work of great lyricism and virtuosity and will be performed by the French cellist Florent Audivert.
The concert will be completed by the Symphony No. 4 in A minor, ‘Italiana’, op. 90, by Felix Mendelssohn. The composer wrote to his father that he wanted to convey the impressions and atmosphere of the Latin country to which he travelled in 1830. It has long been considered the best of the German composer's symphonies. Castell de Bellver
