Carla Nowak, an idealistic math and sports teacher, starts her first job at a high school. When a series of robberies occur at school and she suspects one of her students, she decides to get to the bottom of the matter on her own. She attempts to mediate between outraged parents and aggressive students, but is confronted by the unforgiving structures of the school system.
