This comic opera with music by Arthur Sullivan (1842-1900) and libretto by Basil Hood is the new production of the Cor de Calvià, directed by Llorenç Gelabert and now presented in the Auditorium of Peguera. It is an adaptation in Catalan made by Jaume Roca Amengual of the original The Rose of Persia, and has a stage direction by Romina Colotto.
The action places us in Persia and tells the story of Hassan, a rich philanthropist who welcomes beggars in his house to the displeasure of his 25 wives.
They intervene in their respective roles: David Llecha (Hassan), Lola Rossello Almendros (Ballarina), Sergio Vázquez (Sultà), Fanny Marí, Rosa exuberant (Sultana), Jaume Roca (Yussuf), Sofia Domenech Marti (Desig del color), Pere Joan Costa (Abdallah) Catalina Ferrer Vidal (Essència de lliri), Alvarini Rossini (Visir), Miquel Company Bernal (Metge), Francesc Ribas Cruañes (Botxí), Marga Reig Reus ( flute), Svitlana Bens (piano).
