Following the path of King Jaume is the name of the program that brings together the activities organized by the Palma City Council to unveil the origins of the Banner Party held each December 31 and that symbolizes the conquest of Mallorca by king Jaume I.
From December19 to 21, a route has been organized, without cost and guided by historian Joan Avellaneda, through different sites of the city, in two shifts: from 9:30 to 11:00 and 11:30 to 13:00 hours. To register you have to call: 664 36 70 91.
In the same program, will be included a series of open door days in the City Hall of Palma, on which will be displayed its rooms, the works of art it houses and the symbolism of the Festival of the Banner, one of the oldest in Europe and declared of cultural interest by the Consell de Mallorca in 2008. The opening of Cort to citizens will be from 28 to 30 December, from 10:00 to 17:00 h. No prior registration is required.
