'Requiem', by John Rutter

Art Vocal Ensemble premieres its 29th production, Requiem, one of the most representative works of the sacred style of the British composer John Rutter (1945).

Intimate in nature and with beautifully crafted harmonic textures, the work inspires reflections and sensations far removed from what we usually understand as a mass for the dead, with a compositional skill and expressiveness that truly moves the listener. An overwhelming work that combines drama and exultation in equal parts.

Parts: Requiem aeternam and Kyrie; Out of the deep; Pie Jesu; Sanctus and Benedictus; Agnus Dei The Lord is my shepherd; Lux aeterna.

Directed by Llorenç Gelabert Gual, the Catalan soprano Júlia Farrés-Llongueras and the Art Vocall Ensemble, choir and instrumental ensemble, will perform.
