Xisca Veny has won the I Certamen de Instalación Artística Miradas de Mujeres (First Contest of Artistic Installation Views of Women), a contest only for women artists with a project for the spiral staircase of the Modernist Museum Can Prunera. Reflecting Women shows images of women that are apparently neutral, but on a closer look legitimate discourses associated with certain power relations.
The snapshots are in a negative following the form of the ladder while it shells the epic and femininity of the role of women in certain situations. Drawing on slates the artist describes who, when and where the film was shot, usually in places connected to Sóller.
